The Lexmark Z22 Printer And Compatible Z22 Ink Is A Proven Machine

Most people don’t require more from their printer than having it spit out good looking prints when instructed without a hassle. If you are one of those people, and there are a good deal of us out there, you might just find what you’re looking for in the Lexmark Z22. While this printer might not be for the high production end business user, who most likely would want a faster printing laser machine, the casual user will find many pluses. One of those is that this is now considered an older model, therefore you will often find it used or refurbished.

This printer was usually liked by those who purchased it. Many wrote reviews that they were happy with the set up and print quality of the printer. Some of the better qualities most frequently mentioned was the reasonable price, ease of use, and decent color prints using Lexmark ink. You should recognize that this is an older printer made for older computers, so if you have Windows XP you will have to download a driver from Lexmark's website. If you have Vista, I'm not positive this printer will work for you.

A major consideration for purchasing this printer is the reasonable price. At the time this printer was in production, it was known for being a good deal for what you got. If you have an opportunity to purchase this printer refurbished or used, make sure that it still is a very good deal for a used printer (and make sure it is in good condition too). Lexmark Z22 ink is still available online for under fifty bucks.

Like I mentioned earlier, the casual user is best suited for this printer. It has a print speed of just under seven pages per minute for black and white, and under four for color prints. This will actually be just fine for most home users that are, for example, printing step-by-step directions from a mapping website. If you are a big home or business user, however, you will probably be irritated by the slow speed.

Another thing to consider before committing to this printer is the fact that it uses two types of Lexmark Z 22 ink: one for normal color pages and one for printed photos. Since it only has space to install one color cartridge at a time, you will need to switch them back and forth as your color needs change.

You will also want to know what it can do for you, and if that matches what you need from it. It will take paper as small as 3 by 5 inches, and as large as 8.5 by 17 inches. It holds one hundred sheets of paper at a time, and twenty pages of photo paper and ten envelopes. This printer can interface with your computer by either a parallel or USB cord.

Lexmark is a pretty respected company, so you don't have to worry too much about buying one of their products (although since these are out of production I wouldn't expect a warranty from them). It was listed as one of the most admired computer peripheral companies by Fortune magazine and has grown to a such a size where it sells about five billion dollars every year in revenue.

If you end up with this machine, expect the Lexmark Z22 ink to cost about $35-45 dollars and be available at online ink retailers. Also expect to find a great deal for a decent printer. Add Lexmark ink and go forth and print!

I've heard from many sources that this printer has really affordable ink and is a great printer for most offices, and even many homes.

I have also heard that!
